i’ve been making huge changes to my music library recently. first off, i’ve finally said my final goodbyes to the shitty bloatware that is itunes. i’ve started using musicbee instead, a program that i’m pretty much in love with at the moment.
for one it supports flac, which i had a lot of but had to previously use vlc for. another fantastic feature is that it automatically scrobbles tracks to last.fm without any additional plugins, which brings me to my next point: i love scrobbling! i really wish i had started it sooner. for the uninitiated scrobbling simply means keeping a history of all the music you listen to. my last.fm acct is here, and one of the main reasons i started doing this is so that in the near future i can make a badass music history chart. if you haven’t started scrobbling you should, all the cool kids are doing it. and if you have started then you should add me.
since i’ve migrated to a new music platform i decided that it was finally time to organize my music library. i started about a week ago and i’m currently up to the letter “i” by which i mean adding art work, tagging every song and album appropriately, and deleting/downloading pieces of my collection so that is makes sense. i’ve got a lot of work ahead of me but it’ll be perfect when it’s finished. shouldn’t take more than a few more weeks. let’s hope i can find time to work on my video during as well…
