after hours of blood and sweat i’ve configured my desktop just the way i wanted. went through tons of different styles before i decided i was happiest with the current incarnation. i even went so far as breaking my computer in the process by tinkering with .dll files in my windows directory, but i have to admit that fixing it was a fun process akin to solving a difficult puzzle. and now...

i’ve been making huge changes to my music library recently. first off, i’ve finally said my final goodbyes to the shitty bloatware that is itunes. i’ve started using musicbee instead, a program that i’m pretty much in love with at the moment.
for one it supports flac, which i had a lot of but had to previously use vlc for. another fantastic feature is that it...
544 images later, i’m finally done editing my still photographs. god damn that took forever. i’m only about halfway done at this point, but now the fun begins: video editing! i’m hoping to start this soon but we’ll see how much progress i make since the fam is coming into town this weekend. there will be much halo and much rejoicing.

the fam is going out of town tomorrow. i was super stoked to go but alas I could not get the time off. instead i will be doing the next best thing: working on my next video. this is a small preview. i took 750 photos that i will be editing and animating in the coming weeks. finally made use of that damn green screen.
this is a work of genius. planning on reading these books in the near future finally. can’t wait to read this scene.
dust storm hit phoenix yesterday. looks like something out of the mummy. needless to say the car looks like shit and everything tastes like sand now. although i suppose that isn’t much different from before the storm hit.

i got rid of my facebook because it seemed rather useless at the time. i had more “friends” than i had real friends and the whole privacy thing was pain in the ass. now google comes out with this, trying to suck me back into social network. guess we’ll have to wait to see if i get an invite.
gat dayum. this is almost enough to make me want to play this game. if only i didn’t have a life. why in the world don’t they make something like this into a full movie? these 6 minutes alone are probably better than the prequels put together. also, bender as a space cowboy. fuck yea.
i would pay a ridiculous sum for a zelda chess set such as this. really fantastic work. another pic here and more info on how they were handmade here. speaking of chess i wish i knew some fantastic strategies in this game. whenever i win against a regular peon i feel all high and mighty when in reality i’m sure whatever i just did would pale in comparison to a chess master. teach me your...
finally finished his dark materials trilogy, and now on to bigger and better things. the subtle knife was by far my favourite book out of the series, and while i was satisfied with the ending i was a bit disappointed with the anti-climactic final battle. a few days ago i began reading the hitchhiker’s guide to galaxy, something i’ve been wanting to cross off my list for some time....
still not quite sure what to think about this. i’m intrigued but i feel like it will be a repeat of the original wii: fun for a moment, but shortly after a dust collector. new smash is all i care about though, especially now that is will finally be on a handheld system. i’ve been clamoring for this for years.
it’s party time. haven’t had a good drink in quite some time. lots of good friends that i have yet to have a drink with and even more that i wish to have another drink with. skated with an ex-pro skater yesterday. carving the bowl is something that needs to be experienced by every human being. yes, even the cavemen. sometimes i think i listen to too much radiohead. then i listen to...
really high hopes for the new spider-man. third film was a complete travesty that is in heavy need of redemption. all of yesterday morning i had a recurring thought of being an english teacher. out of the blue really. a lot of it had to do with looking back at some of my favorite teachers and classes and how much i currently enjoy reading and (trying) to write. seems like an impossible career...
about to get my skate on. this skate shop is in oregon and actually has a full ramp in the back. looks like an amazing place to shred. let’s hope the new blank board i got lasts a few months. carving bowls is getting easier and a lot more fun. there are a few nice skating spots in el paso that i really want to hit up next time i’m in town. i really need to practice my piano more. i...
deleted my facebook, twitter, and a buncha other shit today. didn’t get the time off I needed for summer vacation at work. really fucking sucks. been listening to a ton of old school prog rock band king crimson. in the court of the crimson king is a fantastic song. wish i heard of these guys sooner. buckethead is coming in a few weeks. his shows look like a blast. craving more chiba hut....

I just started a new book blog. I had been posting some book stuff here but I kinda wanted to separate that from my internet nonsense, so now I have a dedicated place where I’ll be updating what I’m currently reading and writing a few blurbs about the books I’ve finished reading. I hope you enjoy it. :)
