finally finished his dark materials trilogy, and now on to bigger and better things. the subtle knife was by far my favourite book out of the series, and while i was satisfied with the ending i was a bit disappointed with the anti-climactic final battle. a few days ago i began reading the hitchhiker’s guide to galaxy, something i’ve been wanting to cross off my list for some time. it’s been more than half a year since i’ve been able to quench my lust for sci-fi so this is a welcome change. don’t forget your towel.

still not quite sure what to think about this. i’m intrigued but i feel like it will be a repeat of the original wii: fun for a moment, but shortly after a dust collector. new smash is all i care about though, especially now that is will finally be on a handheld system. i’ve been clamoring for this for years.

it’s party time. haven’t had a good drink in quite some time. lots of good friends that i have yet to have a drink with and even more that i wish to have another drink with. skated with an ex-pro skater yesterday. carving the bowl is something that needs to be experienced by every human being. yes, even the cavemen. sometimes i think i listen to too much radiohead. then i listen to more radiohead.

really high hopes for the new spider-man. third film was a complete travesty that is in heavy need of redemption. all of yesterday morning i had a recurring thought of being an english teacher. out of the blue really. a lot of it had to do with looking back at some of my favorite teachers and classes and how much i currently enjoy reading and (trying) to write. seems like an impossible career turnaround at this point but hey, i’m young. never know what can happen in the next 50 years. and i figure we’ll all be living to be 200 since we’ll be half cyborg by 2050. i’ve got some time to kill.

about to get my skate on. this skate shop is in oregon and actually has a full ramp in the back. looks like an amazing place to shred. let’s hope the new blank board i got lasts a few months. carving bowls is getting easier and a lot more fun. there are a few nice skating spots in el paso that i really want to hit up next time i’m in town. i really need to practice my piano more. i kinda wish i knew what i wanted to do with my life.

deleted my facebook, twitter, and a buncha other shit today. didn’t get the time off I needed for summer vacation at work. really fucking sucks. been listening to a ton of old school prog rock band king crimson. in the court of the crimson king is a fantastic song. wish i heard of these guys sooner. buckethead is coming in a few weeks. his shows look like a blast. craving more chiba hut. looking forward to finishing the dark materials series and finally starting the hitchhiker’s guide to the galaxy. i’m going to try to make actual blog posts more often.
Fantastic animation!
Earthquake in Christchurch? No big deal.
Maybe the best 9 minute beat poem I’ve heard today.
